Welcome to the Halifax and Huddersfield Hospitals - Pharmacy Department Website

The Pharmacy Directorate in the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust provides Pharmaeutical Care for the hospital sectors of the NHS for a population of approximately 400,000. The Trust has three main hospitals - Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax, and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, St Lukes Hospital and Holme Valley in Huddersfield

The main towns covered by the Trust are Halifax and Huddersfield, both in West Yorkshire. The geographical area is in the foothills of the Southern Pennines, with boundaries being the spine of the Pennines in the west, straddling the M62 motorway, with the Metropolitan areas of Bradford and Leeds to the north and east.

The towns are about 10 miles from Bradford, 16 miles from Leeds, and 3 miles from the M62.

All Pharmacists provide a clinical pharmacy service to all wards.

The Pharmaceutical Service provides both in-patient and out-patient pharmaceutical care. Both of the larger hospitals (Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary) also provide Medicines Information, Aseptic Dispensing, and procurement of pharmaceuticals. The Trust also has a Hospital Manufacturing Unit which is licenced by the MHRA, and which manufacturers items to specials orders.
